A lot of people are curious to know this, because some pastors teach that water baptism is a requirement for salvation. However; when we dive into it,water baptism is only symbolic of the spiritual change that takes place when you're truly baptized by the spirit of The Most High (TMH). So, let's go into the scriptures to get the understanding. Let's go back to the time of Moses where it all started.
Num 8:5 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Num 8:5 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Num 8:6 Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.
So, TMH separated the Levites from the rest of the children of Israel, and He told Moses to cleanse them.
So, TMH separated the Levites from the rest of the children of Israel, and He told Moses to cleanse them.
Num 8:7 And thus shalt thou do unto them, to
cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying
upon them, and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their
clothes, and so make themselves clean.
So, TMH told Moses to sprinkle water of purifying upon the Levites, in the Hebrew it says, "mayim chatta'ath- sin water " Moses had to sprinkle the sin water or the water that cleansed away sin upon the Levites; did the water actually take away the sins of the Levites? No, so we know that this water is symbolic, it's always been this way. The water symbolically cleans you, not literally cleaning you. Again, we're dealing with purity,by symbolically washing with water it symbolizes being spiritually clean.

No, so we know that this water is symbolic, it's always been this way. The water symbolically cleans you, not literally cleaning you. Isa 1:16 Wash you, make you clean; put
away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
This is TMH talking to Israel, telling them to wash themselves in order to be clean. We see that TMH is not talking about natural water; because natural water doesn't stop you from being evil, but spiritual water does. People are baptized in natural water all the time, and they never change their lifestyle; so, natural water is not sufficient to truly clean you.
Jer 2:22 For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me, saith the Lord GOD.
See, Israel knew how to clean themselves naturally; but here in this verse TMH was not satisfied with the natural water cleansing of Israel, because that didn't take away the sins of the Israelite people. They could have gotten baptized over forty times and still remain wicked, because natural water cannot wash away sin. The Bible tells us how to truly become clean.
How can a person be made clean? God's word is what cleans us. God's word renews us, that's how we become new people because the word is spirit. In John 6:63 Christ said this:
Jhn 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth
nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are
spirit, and they are life.
The word gives us life, it cleans us up and makes us new people, water baptism is symbolic of the word and the word is spiritual.
Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the
church, and gave himself for it;
Why did Christ (Yahawashi) give himself? (Verse 26)
Christ (Yahawashi) cleansed Israel through the word, not through water baptism. That's why Yahawashi himself never physically baptized anybody. He was initiating a new and better system.
Jhn 4:1 When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and
baptized more disciples than John,
Jhn 4:2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)
His Disciples were baptizing people, they were using water baptism symbolically as a sign of repentance; but Christ Yahawashi didn't baptize anyone in water; why? Again, He was ushering in a new better system. Now,somebody might say, "If that's the case, then why did Christ (Yahawashi) get baptized?" That's a good question; what we have to realize is that Yahawashi's baptism was different from everybody else. Remember, water baptism was symbolic of washing away sin, we know Yahawashi had no sins to wash away. His baptism was done for a different purpose, and that purpose was so that the Father can openly declare him to be the Son of TMH and the Messiah.
Mat 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the
water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto
him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending
like a dove, and lighting upon him:
When Yahawashi came up out the water, TMH sent His spirit down and it rested upon Yahawashi.
Mat 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven,
saying, This is my
beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
The people who were around heard and witnessed Yahawashi being declared as the son of TMH God. We know that didn't happen to anybody else who was baptized in water. This was a different situation, this was TMH anointing His son Yahawashi with the Holy spirit so that he can perform his ministry.
Act 10:38 How
God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were
oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
How did Christ perform these miracles and taught with much authority seeing things before they happened and discerning the people's spirits? TMH God was with him, he was anointed by the spirit of TMH to do the things he did. Yes,Yahawashi was baptized in water, but it was for a different purpose,he didn't have any sins to wash away. Now, because of Christ our sins are washed away through repentance and obedience to the word. Even John the Baptist understood that water baptism was only symbolic of the true baptism.
Mat 3:11 I indeed baptize you with
water unto repentance: but he that
cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear:
he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with
fire:
John is talking to the children of Israel here, he was instructing them to repent. His baptism was symbolic of the children of Israel being made clean and the washing away of their sins. John understood his ministry of water baptism was only symbolic of repentance and being cleansed from sin, but Yahawashi had come to baptize us with the Holy spirit and literally cleanse us, the Israelites from our sins. Now the symbolism aspect is not longer necessary because Yahawashi came and literally did the cleaning. How did he do it?
Jhn 15:3 Now ye are clean through the
word which I have spoken unto you.
This is Yahawashi speaking, telling Israel that they are TRULY Clean through the word. It's the word that cleanses us, the children of Israel; not the water. The water is symbolic of the word; Paul got the same revelation from Yahawashi when he started his ministry.
1Co 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but
to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ
should be made of none effect.
This is Paul speaking to the Corinthians, he said "Yahawashi didn't send me to baptize anybody, He sent me to teach the Gospel." Paul made it abundantly clear that he wasn't sent there to baptize anybody in water, he was sent to preach the word. Why? Because it's the word that really cleans you, not the water.
Jhn 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy
word is truth.
This is Yahawashi speaking, saying separate, purify and clean the Disciples through the truth. What truth? It says, "Thy word is Truth." We consistently see throughout the Bible that the word is what cleans us up; not the water. Natural water was never the answer to sin.

Many people ask, "If water baptism is no longer necessary, then why was the Disciples still baptizing even after Yahawashi died?" That's a legitimate question; and the answer is this: Because it took time for everyone of Israel to get the revelation. There was a transitional period between the "water baptism" understanding and the "spiritual baptism" understanding. That why we don't see anything about "water baptism" after the book of Acts.
In Acts chapter 2 we see Peter baptizing people in water, that's shortly after Yahawashi died. But let's see what Peter said later on when he wrote his letters:
1Pe 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for
the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but
quickened by the Spirit:
1Pe 3:19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
1Pe 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the
longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing,
wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by
water.
Peter said eight souls were saved by water...
1Pe 3:21 The
like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,)
by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
When Noah and his family was saved by water in the ark, that was symbolic of how baptism now saves us, but not by being dipped or dunked in water, that doesn't save us. By the resurrection of Yahawashi, at this point in Peter's life he understood that water baptism did not save us, he preached about having a good conscience towards TMH. The only way any of us can get a good conscience towards TMH is to be renewed in the spirit of our minds. That's the real baptism...
Eph 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the
deceitful lusts;
Eph 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
The way we think has to change, but water does not change how we think...
Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new
man, which after God is created in
righteousness and true holiness.
We must put on the new man...how? The new man is created when we become righteous and holy. How do we do that?
Psa 19:7 The
law of the LORD is perfect, converting the
soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making
wise the simple.
What does TMH's Law do? It converts the soul. It is the word that converts us, it renews our minds, that's how we become new people. When we hear and receive the word it truly changes us. The spirit of TMH starts to deal with us on a personal level making us wise, thus becoming new person. Pay close attention to the next two verses:
Eph 4:4 There is one
body, and one Spirit,
even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
Not two baptisms, but ONE baptism; now this is very important, there's only ONE baptism. Keep this in mind as we read the next verse.
Act 19:1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus:
and finding certain disciples,
Act 19:2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
Paul comes across these men and asks them if they had received the Holy Spirit since the time they had believed on Yahawashi.
Act 19:3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto
John's baptism.
Paul asked the men, "What type of baptism did you have?" They said water Baptism of John.
Act 19:4 Then said Paul, John verily
baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that
they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ
Jesus.
John's baptism was for the purpose of repentance and for the people to show their belief in Yahawashi, these men already had that baptism...
Act 19:5 When they heard this, they were
baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Wait a second,let's think about this; these men had already been through water baptism, verse 5 says after that they were baptized in the name of Yahawashi. So,what type of baptism is this talking about? It's talking about the baptism of the spirit. Remember Eph 4:5 says there's only "One Baptism" so what is this only one baptism it's talking about?
Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one
baptism,
How do we know this is talking about baptism of the spirit? Because,if it was talking about water baptism then there wouldn't be any need for the baptism of the spirit. Again, once you receive the baptism of the spirit, there's no need for the water.
Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent,
and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive
the gift of the Holy Ghost.
We see that water baptism was for the purpose of remission of sins...
Rom 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood,
to declare his righteousness for the remission of
sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
Does this say faith in water? No, faith in his (Yahawashi's) blood. For what purpose? For the remission of sins THAT ARE PAST, Acts 2:38 we see that water baptism was performed as a sign of remission of sins, but in Rom 3:25 we see that faith in the blood of Yahawashi gives us remission of sins. In other words; if you believe that his death was a sufficient enough sacrifice then your sins are remitted.
Mat 26:28 For
this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
This is Yahawashi speaking, So what is this verse showing us? It shows us that the remission of sins was acknowledged through water baptism, but Yahawashi's death brought in a change. Now we have faith in his blood for remission of sins. We must believe that his death makes us clean through our unwavering faith in him. The water symbolically cleansed us in the past, but his blood spiritually cleansed us; and it's still cleaning us up right now.
Rev 1:5 And from Jesus Christ,
who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince
of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and
washed us from our sins in his own blood,
This is the question we must ask ourselves: "If Yahawashi washed away our sins with his blood, then why do we still need water?" What does the water do that his blood doesn't? If you still feel in your heart the need to be baptized in water, then by proxy what you're saying is that His blood didn't clean you well enough, if that's what you're saying,then you're denying his work on the cross;and you're still in sin. Remember this....
